Maddie & I want to wish everyone a Happy Summer!

Last year on this date, we were hunkered down in a Red Roof Inn in Jacksonville, N.C. We’d been evacuated from our campsite in Flanners Beach, New Bern, N.C., due to Tropical Storm Claudette speeding in our direction. 😳

We spent 3 days there, grateful to be safe inside a building, rather than in a tent. The storm lingered in the area, producing severe thunderstorms & torrential rain for most of the 3 days. 🥺

What a difference a year makes! We’re now back in Massachusetts & today’s weather was gorgeous!

I hope today was the first day of a wonderful summer ahead for everyone! 💕

On May 2, 2021, I departed from Massachusetts in my 2017 Ford Edge (Breezy Blue) with my 13.5 year young pup, Maddie, to fulfill a lifelong dream of a road trip across America. Our departure was delayed by a month, but we're making up for lost time now! My goal is to be out and about for a year.

  2. Thanks, Karen❣ We’re “back”, but the adventure continues because we’re still camping out! I guess “technically” the roadtrip is over, but I’m still counting the days. 😁 Today is Day #416. Happy Summer to you! 💝

  3. Glad you are safer than last year. You have endured ferocious weather! We are still at home in MN, but RV is almost ready. Then we w head up north to visit granddaughter before heading west to CO with a 10 day stopover in SD to visit cousins , and friends we met on the road in NM last year. Miss you and hope you are still enjoying your adventure! Love, Jane and Tim, Sophie too
