Yesterday, on the 22nd anniversary of Mom’s passing, I expected to be especially sad because this is the first year that I wasn’t home to take flowers to her for Mother’s Day, her birthday on May 25th or September 7th. I spent a long time at the cemetery just before I started on this adventure & delivered flowers that day. I know she understands…

Actually, Mom has been traveling with Maddie & me on this adventure! 😇 She has sent so many signs to me along the way, but none stronger than yesterday’s. We had quite a wind storm before sunrise in the morning. When it finally stopped & I crawled out of the tent, the tree overhead had dropped a lot of leaves. Heart shaped leaves❣

Maddie thought I’d lost my mind, again, but 🤷♀️
I inherited my sense of adventure from Mom. Dad was a homebody. She “predicted” my travel bug future on the day I was born. I was born on a Thursday. The phrase “Thursday’s Child has Far to Go” is from the Old English nursery rhyme “Monday’s Child” which is a poem based on the days of the week. In American baby names, the meaning of the name Wendy is Wanderer. 💝
Mom loved to travel & I learned & have adapted her travel style. She researched her destinations prior to every trip & she did it without the benefit of computers, GPS, cellphones, etc. That accomplishment is more impressive to me now than ever before!
Mom loved to see new places, learn new things & meet new people. I also got that from her & I’m forever grateful. 💝
Hugs from Wisconsin 🤗
Wendy & Maddie 💕

dear wanderer, i love the pictures of the heart shaped cloud and how you find hearts (love) all over. I’m enjoying reading your blog. Jose gave me the link. I’m hoping some of your wandering spirit will rub off on me.

Hi Linda! Welcome! I’m glad you’re enjoying my blog. I enjoy writing it. I haven’t posted a lot of the many 💕 I see, but I know that every one is a special sign from my Mom. It’s never too late to catch the travel bug. Even if you can just go on some daytrips, get out there! Safe travels! 😊

Hi Linda! Thank you for your sweet comments. 💕 For some reason, I never saw it until today, June 7th. 🙄 I’ll be responding to your recent email asap, but it sounds like you’re doing great at finding your own new path. 💝

Wendy I believe our mom’s were very much alike. My mom too, instilled in me curiosity, and a love for travel. She too researched relentlessly (through books, and magazines) the places we would visit. They were always incredible. I miss her very much as she passed away at the age of 72. 💕

Our Moms both left us way too soon, but aren’t we lucky to have been their daughters & called them Mom! 🤗💝🤗
My Mom is the VERY BEST Guardian Angel. 💝 I’ve ALWAYS been grateful for her, but never as much as on this journey. She was my best friend, teacher & life coach & she taught me to never miss a once in a lifetime experience. On the very rare occasions I’ve been discouraged or frustrated on this adventure, Mom whispers “Believe in Yourself”. I even have a little sign in the tent with those words.
I miss her more than I can express, but I know she’s never more than a thought away…
