August 21, 2021

It’s Saturday morning, August 21, 2021. Maddie & I are still living it up & loving life here in Indiana! 💕

I’m just popping on this morning to ask everyone in the path of the storm approaching New England to be careful & stay safe! 🤗 I’m always carefully monitoring the weather reports for our future destinations. As a result, I’ve seen the forecasts & videos of the devastating weather along the east coast. I was shocked to see the flooding that has already occurred in Massachusetts & that a tornado was confirmed in Clinton, MA, a small town where I’ve taken a lot of my sunset photos in the past.

When I/we started this journey, some people were understandably concerned about the weather we might be facing along the way. It never occurred to me that I’d be more worried about the weather at home, where the majority of my friends & family live. 🥺

To those in the line of potentially severe & dangerous weather conditions, my thoughts are with you. Please take whatever safety precautions you can now & then hunker down until the storm passes. 💝

On May 2, 2021, I departed from Massachusetts in my 2017 Ford Edge (Breezy Blue) with my 13.5 year young pup, Maddie, to fulfill a lifelong dream of a road trip across America. Our departure was delayed by a month, but we're making up for lost time now! My goal is to be out and about for a year.

    1. Thanks, Cathie! 💝 Since starting this journey, I feel like I’ve been studying to become a meteorologist! I check the weather forecasts in all directions, several times a day. I’ve been picking our future destinations after carefully researching the current weather & the weather history for each area. I’m also paying careful attention to wildfires & COVID. I think growing up with Don Kent, Shelby Scott & Dick Albert as our local weather forecasters has paid off for me!
      Hugs, 🤗

  1. Hi Wendy, I finally figured out how to answer your “blog” It is very gloomy here today, expecting rain and some wind, but maybe not os bad as on L.I. where we used to live and the coast of MA. Mike was a busy beaver yesterday, putting away chairs, taking down tents (we have 3 of them) and securing anything that could blow away.) Tom and his family returned home from their vacation in Maine. Glad they made it before the storm. Will call you tomorrow with further details and hopefully, no storm damage to report. Love, José

  2. Yay, José! Hello! I’ve been monitoring the weather & I’m hoping the storm isn’t as serious as predicted. 🤞🏼 I’m glad that Tom & his family got home safely, too. I keep getting emergency alerts on my phone for Melrose. After I know things are ok there, I’m going to keep switching it to the area I’m currently in, as I travel. Hugs & best wishes for everyone’s safety. 🤗❤🤗
